Azurite

Azurite has been known since ancient times and used in jewelry. It is used most commonly in beads but larger pieces are used primarily in pendants. Azurite is too soft for rings and should be mounted to be worn around the neck or as a pin or pendant. It was prized as a blue pigment in ancient art as in Hans Holbein the Younger's, "Lady With a Squirrel."
