Obsidian

What is obsidian?

Obsidian is a naturally occurring volcanic glass. It is used extensively in the jewelry industry. Obsidian is used in the surgical field to make surgical tools (scalpels) that are sharper than even the sharpest surgical steel.

Obsidian occurs when lava (magma) melts rock and forms into molten black glass. It was used in arrow and spear heads as well as cutting tools by primitive man.
