1.01 ct. Spinel, American Beautyberry Pink, Burma, Pear Cut, Engagement Gem

Cut -  Pear

Color - Vivid American Beautyberry Pink for the perfect Southern engagement gem. Why not buy a gem more beautiful and more rare than diamond in a color that evokes our memories of first love and childhood in the South. Beautyberry grows in Tennessee, Virginia, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Mid to East Texas.

We can wrap it in diamonds and nestle it in 18k gold or platinum for you, or have your favorite jewelry store or designer do it. What a great and memorable ring this would make and everyone will want one, when they see it, but they will not be easy to get in this rare color.

It is okay to use fine gems that are not diamond as the center stone in an engagement ring. You can have the diamonds on each side of this gem in tapered baguettes or halo and it will be truly unique; and in the South, we love unique, spiced with a bit of crazy.

"In the South we don't try and hide 'crazy,' we parade it around on the front porch and give it a cocktail."

This gem would be a perfect "Julia Sugarbaker," ring for sure and guaranteed to please any girl who is romantic, artistic, intelligent and a bit of a non-conformist. A girl who would appreciate the rarity of this gem as an investment which can be passed down generationally for hundreds of years. Spinel is hard like sapphire and will survive daily wear for centuries with reasonable care.

Why any creative woman who appreciates beauty and her heritage would settle for just a boring old diamond when gems like this exist is beyond me. It touches on everything we love about growing up in the modern South, so full of tradition, sweet tea, roots music, gumbo, voodoo and Baptists.

It may be from exotic, mysterious, Burma, but it has Georgia on my mind.

Origin -  Burma

Clarity - VS

Treatment - None

Rarity -  Very, Very Rare.

What makes this gem special?  This is one of the most beautiful pink spinels we have found. It is the color of the American Beautyberry (calicarpa americana) which many of us grew up with in the Southern United States especially in Texas and Louisiana. This is the new hot engagement gem and at over 50,000 X more rare than sapphire and over 100,000X more rarer than 1-5 carat diamonds.  NOTICE(360 Diamond Viewer video washes out colored gem's, see photos for actual color and viewers to see cut and check for inclusions)
